You are invited to join this unique personal development workshop being held at Castle Hill in the Canterbury High Country. The workshop uses the psychodrama method to promote and expand creativity and spontaneity in all aspects of life, including personal, global and spiritual issues. During the workshop you can expect to enhance or regenerate life by developing new responses in your relationship with yourself, your family, friends, workplace or community.
Castle Hill Outdoor Centre is nestled in beech forest at the base of the Craigieburn Mountain Range. This beautiful environment has been chosen to support mental and emotional restoration, and to promote creative expression. This is our sixth annual psychodrama workshop at Castle Hill. Our aim is to offer experiential psychodrama to a wide range of people, including those with no previous psychodrama experience.
Your Investment: $395 – $595 incl. GST (includes workshop, accommodation and meals)

About the Leaders:
Ali Watersong is a certificated psychodramatist, teacher and clown doctor now living in Nelson. She has led numerous personal growth groups during the past 25 years and delights in using the psychodrama method to assist people to create the lives they want. She loves being in nature whether that is through tramping, kayaking, skiing or playing with her dog, Sophie.
Craig Whisker is a psychodramatist and educator with the Australian & Aotearoa New Zealand Psychodrama Association. He first experienced psychodrama in 1988 and completed training from 2000-2007. Craig lives with Selina in Kihikihi, southwest of Hamilton, and together they have five adult children. He enjoys conversations while walking, creative writing, mountain biking, dreamwork, and working with families.
Venue:Castle Hill Outdoor Centre is set in the spectacular Canterbury high country, surrounded by mountains and beech forest, overlooking the Waimakariri Basin, 100km west of Christchurch. It is approximately one and a half hours of travel by road from Christchurch on State Highway 73.
Nearby are the distinctive limestone boulders of Castle Hill located within the Kura Tawhiti Conservation Area. Te Kohanga, where the limestone rocks stand, has significant meaning to He Tangata o Waitaha, the first people of the area. It also has special significance to Kai Tahu, whose unbroken ties with Kura Tawhiti stretch from distant ancestors to present generations. Traditional knowledge of the trails, rock shelters, rock drawings, and places for gathering kai (food), form an integral part of their tribal identity. In 2002, Kura Tawhiti was named a “Spiritual Centre of the Universe” by the Dalai Lama.
The Centre is a modern, cosy and light filled venue. It is a base for a range of recreational activities, including walking, tramping, mountain and rock climbing, skiing, mountain-biking, caving, and fishing. You are encouraged to bring comfortable indoor clothes and footwear, together with outdoor apparel for exploring the local surroundings. As air temperatures can vary from very hot in the midday to cool in the evening, we recommend you bring clothing for all climates.
Accommodation:Accommodation is provided on Friday and Saturday nights in comfortable bunkrooms with single bunk beds. There is plenty of room to spread out. No bedding is supplied so bring your own sheets, duvets, pillows and towels. Bathroom, shower and toilet facilities are shared. Power is supplied by solar panels, a diesel hot-water boiler, and a generator for lights and power sockets only.
On Sunday, the workshop will finish at 3pm and there is approximately an hour required to clean up the venue prior to leaving. Participants are asked to schedule this into their plans for homeward travel.
